I think my interest in making images through a camera lens is in texture & colour, often at the expense of a sense of depth. I seem either to focus very much on the immediate foreground and everything else might as well be a backdrop, a flat curtain hanging at an indeterminate distance, or have such an intense thicket of foreground that there isn’t any room for anything else. It often looks to me as if I am trying to make what I see around me look like a surface texture, the more densely woven the better.
